Our School

Principal Welcome

Welcome to Cranbourne East Primary School.

I extend a warm welcome to all students, families and staff. When you step through our gates you will notice that our school is exceptionally welcoming and accepting. The culture at Cranbourne East Primary is very supportive and engaging for all members of the community. We challenge our students thinking and support them with evidence-based learning practices to help them reach their full potential.

My background is based on best practice student wellbeing and engagement as well as whole school implementation of curriculum programs and student assessment. I am extremely passionate about supporting all students to achieve their best and ensure that they are regulated learners, ready for the next step in their journey of education. Our wellbeing approach is based upon the premise that all good learning will come from a strong, connected relationship with their teachers.

I am looking forward to working with the students, staff and community to ensure the steps we take today will support our community tomorrow. I am available for parents who have concerns or questions and am willing to listen and support your family and the school for the best outcome. Visibility and connections are integral to the future of our school, for that our principal team are visible and available before and after school to meet and work with parents and families.

Cranbourne East Primary was established in 2010 and has continued to serve the local community with a strong education and academic growth. Our impressive staffing profile boasts a team of educators with a collegiate response to the teaching and learning. Wellbeing and student learning are strongly connected which is further supported with the Victorian Curriculum.

Students will engage in a comprehensive curriculum for English and Mathematics as well as Physical Education, STEM, Auslan, Science, Performing Arts and Visual Arts. Students all attend our beautiful library to extend their love of reading and general knowledge.

The school has a strong focus on full time attendance and student wellbeing. It is important that all students attend school all day, every day if they are to reach their full potential and have the best start to a prosperous and strong future. We have an expectation that parents and families will continue to work to support all students to make positive choices now to support them later on in life. We continue to offer support to all students to set a clear path for development of self-growth and learning.

Inclusion is a cornerstone for our students. All students are supported with the resources they need to thrive at school, and our team of supportive staff work tirelessly to engage and connect with all students. I look forward to welcoming you and your child to our school community.

Kind regards,

Ross Carlson
Principal

Our school recognises the importance of the partnership between our school and parents and carers to support student learning, engagement and wellbeing. We share a commitment to, and a responsibility for, creating an inclusive and safe school environment for our students.

Child Safe

At Cranbourne East Primary School we invite all families and members of our community to be involved in decisions and discussions relating to their children’s safety and wellbeing. We take pride in creating an open and transparent culture that promotes a greater understanding of child safety.

Families play an important role in monitoring children’s safety and wellbeing and helping children to disclose concerns. As such, we encourage all members of our school community to raise any concerns or submit any ideas for improvement. Should you have any feedback regarding any of our Child Safety and Wellbeing policies and practices, please contact the school in person, via phone or email.
