School Values

The ‘Five R’s’

At Cranbourne East Primary School we encourage children to become lifelong learners who are able to make choices about their learning in a safe and secure environment. Our values reflect the way in which we expect everyone in our school community to behave.

Cranbourne East Primary School operates a values program centered around the 5R’s of:

  • What does Respect mean?
  • Respect for self
  • Respect for others
  • Respect for property

  • How do I treat my friends?
  • How can I be a good friend?
  • What makes a good friend?
  • My family is important to me. What are the relationships within my family?
  • How do I treat others?

  • What is Resilience?
  • Building self-esteem
  • Building self worth
  • Dealing with disappointment

  • What does responsibility mean?
  • How can I be responsible for my behaviour?
  • How can I be responsible for my belongings?

  • What does Rigour mean?
  • Working hard always
  • Trying your best

These values are explored through explicit lessons throughout the year so they become familiar words and concepts to our students. The ‘Five R’s’ will be the basis for relationship building embedded throughout the school and play an important part in all programs.
