Student Wellbeing & Safety

At Cranbourne East Primary School the wellbeing of our students is of utmost importance. The welfare and wellbeing of all our students is integral to all aspects of school life. At CEPS we ensure that a safe and supportive environment and culture is created and maintained so that the experience of teaching and learning is enhanced for all students.

Student Welfare is fostered through the comprehensive Student Engagement Guidelines and Policy and reflected in the school values our 5R’s Responsibility, Respect, Resilience, Relationships and Rigour.

At CEPS there are a number of people that the parents and students can speak to about concerns they might have. The learning neighbourhood teachers are the first point of contact. Team leaders and the Assistant Principal/Primary Welfare Officer are also available for advice and support.

Student safety at Cranbourne East Primary School is our highest priority and the safe and appropriate supervision of students is an important element of our duty of care to students. Part of this duty is ensuring parents and students are aware of our student supervision arrangements before and after school.

Before school: School grounds are supervised from 8:45am Monday-Friday with 3 rostered staff on duty.

After school: School grounds are supervised from 3:15pm-3:30pm Monday-Friday with all staff in the yard during this time to farewell our students and families.

Students on school grounds outside these times will not be supervised (unless they are attending a before or after school care program or supervised extracurricular activity).

Parents/carers are requested to ensure that students do not attend school without parental supervision outside of these supervised times unless they are attending before or after school care, or a pre-arranged supervised activity.

Families are encouraged to contact the school on 59900 400 for more information about the before and after school care facilities available to our school community or if you would like any further information about our student supervision arrangements.

For a copy of our school’s Yard Duty and Supervision Policy please see the Policies section of our school website or contact the school to request a hard copy. This policy includes Cranbourne East Primary School’s student supervision arrangements across the school day, including before and after school.
